Evaluation of unit 1:
I feel our group was successful in making a depicT short film, my role was an on-site reporter (part of the talent). I also done the storyboard, I planned everything out and how the scenes would look and where they would take place. Alongside the storyboard I also helped with the script and character names for the film.

Our final product ended up being two minutes long due to our misunderstanding of how long each scene had to be. Jake was given the task to cut the three and a half minutes worth of footage and get it to as close as one minute and 30 seconds as he could, but this task was difficult as we wanted the narrative to stay the same, so this would lead to a continuity error. Jake cut away most of the witness interview scene, meaning that the actor for the witness being interviewed had very little screen time in the film. The final cut was good with no visible continuity errors, but overall the editing seemed a bit effortless; using b-rolls to cover transitions and make the current scene playing look more interesting and not boring the viewer. There was a slight error in the timing of the cross-fade transition to the “a few minutes later” card.

We didn’t have any issues with the filming process besides the weather preventing us from following our schedule and filming as most of our film was set outside in a public park opposite EN sixth from. There were some parts of the pre-production we didn’t follow, firstly we went off script for most of the film, but we followed the idea of what we wrote. We also cut out a large segment of the storyboard as it wasn’t quite up to expectations.
